Team Building Day
15-12-2017
A few weeks ago the directors took all of the workforce on a get-together bonding day.
We chose an outdoor experience with Field Sport UK
The day started with us all arriving @ Field Sports HQ in Coleorton. We were welcomed with coffee and biscuits.
The day comprised of us splitting into two teams of 6. Pete, Clive & Kirsty who were our instructors then ran us through the vitally important Health & Safety requirements, as you can imagine adhering to the rules whilst firing guns with live ammunition is absolutely paramount.
We enjoyed seven different types of shooting, pellet hand guns, pellet repeating rifle against the clock, targets with rifle, Shotguns with clays, ascending, descending and running rabbit clays. We finished with Archery, longbow and arrows target shooting.
All of our individual scores were kept track off by the instructors, prizes were given in the form of medals.
The top three were Martin Bird, who to be fair had a slight advantage as he has attended a Field Sports day previously, and he is an active member of Ashby Archery Club.
In second place was Richard Millington who shot steady all day, the only discipline he did not excel in was the Archery, this was also true of Doug Turner who finished third, but again Doug’s Archery skills was nowhere near as good as his gun shooting abilities.
This all took place on the 28th of October, which was a chilly, but dry bright, autumnal day.
After the shooting activities were over we all made our way over to the George & Dragon at Thringstone for some excellent pub food, fine wine, and a beer or two.
We concluded with yet more prize giving, before the lads continued this event, taking it in to the early hours in many of the hostilities in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
The Perfect Team Bonding Experience
I took 12 of our team from Abbey Extrusions for a shooting experience.
During the past 30 odd years we have been to many different types of activities, but this one ranks very high in terms of all round enjoyment.
The competition structure kept everyone keen to try there best, and provoked much banter amongst the team.
Pete Clive & Kirsty were exceptional in all areas making it a most enjoyable day but also ensuring that health and safety was keenly adhered to.
We will be back again at some stage, maybe to try a few different activities.
