Throwing a BBQ in summer is always a really good way of bringing all your friends and family together, and spending a fun day or evening with all the people that you care about. It’s the perfect way to enjoy good company, good food and good drinks!
Do you want to throw a successful BBQ bash this summer? We've got a few ideas on how you can make sure it goes off without a glitch
Pick the best day to host your BBQ – Is there any point choosing to have a get together during the working week? A lot of people don’t like doing too much on a work night, and they certainly won’t want to drink! We suggest hosting it on the weekend – who isn’t in a good mood on the weekend? More people are likely to be available, and more likely to be able to stay later!
Ask people to let you know if they can attend – There is nothing worse than people saying they can attend an event and then not turning up, or cancelling last minute. This can be extremely frustrating if you have gone out and bought a specific amount of food or something specifically for that person. You should ask people to let you know in advance if they can come, so you don’t buy too much or too little food!
Don’t be afraid to ask people to contribute – You might be hosting the BBQ party, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t ask people to bring something to contribute. Whether they bring some snacks, drinks, dip or even some food – every little helps!
Have entertainment on hand– Whether it’s just preparing a CD, or having speakers available so that you can play music from your phone – have some kind of entertainment prepared. You don’t want everyone sitting around and staring into space after the food has started to run out. For more fun, prepare some fun party games!
Prepare sides and dips – The best thing about a BBQ is the meat, but you also need to have sides to go with it. Prepare a fresh salad and some dips; make sure you have a variety of sauces available, and have bread for the burgers and sausages.
Do prep work the night before – Trust us, you’ll regret leaving everything until the day of your party. Do your prep work the night before; marinate the meat, prepare side dishes and chop up any vegetables that you will be using.
Are you planning on hosting a BBQ party soon and need some fuel for your BBQ? We can help you out!
