Surface Rewinders

These center/surface-type rewinders are usually configured either as center/surface single-shaft “simplex ” or a double-shaft “duplex”-type slitting and rewinding machines, these machines are generally required for larger roll production which require greater tension control than can be achieved with surface winders, for materials such as label stock laminates. The surface drive produces the web tension, while the nip pressure of the pressure roll and the torque from the spindle drive produce the roll hardness. By controlling the nip pressure and torque, the desired roll hardness and profile can be achieved.
