DPM - Data Print Module Series
The Data Print Modules (DPM) Series from ALS is a series of self-contained thermal transfer printing and dispensing modules for custom print and apply applications.
The DPM range give unsurpassed performance and as these robust print and apply engines have been developed for industrial use, they provide trouble-free, continuous operation, “24-7”, with print speeds of up to 400mm/s.
All Round Ability
Available in 4”, 5” and 6” widths, the DPM range is ideal for almost every application. The patented dispensing mechanism allows easy dispensing of difficult label material. Left and right hand versions make them easy to integrate into existing production lines. Our Thermal Transfer Coders are designed for:
Autocodes
Barcodes
Graphics
And can be used for printing onto labels, cartons, film and many other packaging materials.
Compatibility
With a footprint and 5-screw mounting compatible with Zebra PAX and Sato M-Series engines, the DPM range from ALS can be used in the same label applicators. With built-in Zebra ZPL and Easy-Plug languages, there is also often no need to change software settings. The different dispensing options available allow the DPM to still dispense onto the same vacuum/air applicator modules.
Still the only print engine available with an effective (and reliable) head-lifting ribbon-save mechanism, the DPM was also the first print engine to be "RFID-ready" with a low-cost upgrade module available to install whenever required. Together, the ribbon-saving head-lift function can also be used to “jump-the-bump” over the RFID chip embedded behind smart labels, so neither it nor the thermal head is damaged. Contrary to reports critical of other makes, RFID applications will not wear out your print head!
Alternatively, with an extended adjustable dispense edge, the DPM can also apply labels directly, without the need for a vacuum/air applicator module, by setting the print and dispense speed to match that of the conveyor. Direct apply does not require change parts like vacuum tamp applicators, so if you need to change label sizes frequently, direct apply is by far the easiest.
