This extremely diverse material is impregnated and is based upon cellulose fibre paper that is highly compressed and heated with glue-glycerin that gives it both strength and flexibility. As such gasket paper has excellent sealing properties and working temperatures of up to 120°c.
Gasket paper is generally brown in colour due to the tanning process and is manufactured in continuous rolls 1 m wide and up to 160 mtrs in length depending upon the thickness. Thickness starts at 0.15mm and cover most increments right up to 3.2mm.
This material is most diverse and has many excellent properties including resistance to fuels, oils, grease and solvents. As such it endears itself to many industries especially automotive, marine, aero-space and defence.
