Education Mezzanine Floor Completed During Summer Shutdown - Shropshire College Commercial Grade Furniture When this Shropshire College needed to expand its Building Services Department, the only way was to go up. Working in partnership with the College Estates Department during the summer shutdown, Advantage built a mezzanine floor for office use inclusive of one-hour fire protection. The mezzanine design included two staircases, one being unprotected, the other a protected fire route with fire-rated partitions. Further steel stud taped and jointed partitions were built to form first floor classrooms. Being a Building Services Department, the College built decorating pods on the remaining first floor, maximising space below for the Brick Laying Department.
