Exporting To Finland With AGI Immingham

The team at the AGI Immingham office work closely with a number of Scandinavian vessel operators, offering our import and export services to customers trading in Finland. The team also have close connections across Sweden, Norway and Denmark, ensuring the smooth flow of goods to and from the UK.

The ports of Hull and Immingham are pivotal in the export of goods to and from Finland, making the team the perfect partner for companies that currently trade in Finland, or those looking to start!

With weekly sailings from Hull to the Port of Helsinki, this is a growing trading lane, with the team sending 29 trailers to Finland in Q1 2023, and 46 trailers in Q2. And with an average gross weight per trailer shipped of 26,450kg, this equates to sending nearly 2,000 tonnes of goods!

Our Fleet

Given the size of fleet that is operated out of the Immingham office, they are able to offer full truckload (FTL) and a Groupage service to Finland.

And when it comes to the benefit of using our fleet, all of our mega’s have a sliding roof for ease of loading and unloading. The majority of our Euroliners have a sliding roof too, making them a really efficient way of transporting your cargo.

Routes To Finland

Early in 2023, strikes in Finland meant our traditional routes weren’t always available. But that didn’t stop us shipping goods and cargo to Finland! In fact, we developed our own routes, combining sea and road freight, ensuring our customers deliveries were made on time. This meant goods were shipped from Immingham to Helsinki via Cuxhaven, Lubeck & Paldiski.

Even though the direct route from Hull to Helsinki is fully operational, offering both RoRo and containerised LCL, groupage, FCL & FTL shipments, the team have developed some new routes!

The Immingham team have in fact developed a premium route that reduces the average transit time by 36 hours. Cargo travels from Immingham to Hanko, via Cuxhaven and Lubeck. The added benefit of this route is daily sailings are available, making this an incredibly popular route with our customers.

The development of our premium route is an example of how we have adapted to our customers needs. It also blends the offices strengths of sea and road freight into Scandinavia, making it the perfect solution! And with the significant time saving, it’s a real game-changer for exporting goods to Finland.

Exports To Finland

As mentioned above, our fleet handles both FTL and a Groupage loads to Finland, and across Scandinavia. A variety of cargo is sent to Finnish RORO (roll-on/roll-off) terminals, including:

• Steel products
• Packaging products
• Car parts
• Railway parts
• Machinery
• Waste goods

In addition to the FTL movements, groupage loads are regularly sent to Finland. Some of our more typical loads include:
