Selective Catalytic Reduction UK
02-10-2014
Agriemach offer a fully comprehensive service for the supply of Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems throughout the UK and Europe. Our SCR NOx Abatement systems are second to none and offer exceptionally high efficiency across a large range of applications.
Agriemach are based in the south east of England with two facilities which we operate from, however we cover the whole of the UK and Ireland, along with having installed SCR plant throughout Mainland Europe. We offer a comprehensive service which includes the supply of all required items, along with account and project managers, installation and commissioning engineers and service engineers offering a range of service contracts.
Selective Catalytic Reduction is a means of converting Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) into Nitrogen and Water, using an Atomised injection of urea (AdBlue) with the aid of a catalyst.
The reduction is called “selective” as it is only targeting the NOx emissions using the reagent and catalyst. We take the raw NOx value and reduce it to the target value (or limit) e.g. 500 mg/Nm3 to 50 mg/Nm3 = 90% Reduction.
Efficiency is key in the SCR process and this is achieved by using a number of different monitoring devices, as well as having the ability to react fast enough based on the data received. The dosing system requires data from the Temperature Sensor, Back Pressure Sensor, Engine Load Signal, Air Pressure Sensor and NOx Sensors in order to optimise the amount of urea that is required in the reduction. As engines are very much alive, the NOx values are constantly changing and in order to maintain high efficiency, we must be able to react to these changes as quickly as possible.
We are able to offer our SCR Systems for both Reciprocating Engines and Gas Turbines and a host of different fuel types, such as Natural gas, Bio-Gas from Landfill, Waste Water treatment facilities and more, with the added ability to advise on the required pre-cleaning treatment of bio-gas for the removal of Siloxanes.
Not only can we accommodate such volatile fuel types, but we can also combine our Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems to filter soot (Diesel Particulates); include Oxidation Catalysts for the conversion of Carbon Monoxide, and in large scale greenhouse applications we can specifically target ethylene in the exhaust gas and reduce this perfectly to suitable levels for the crop.
