We’ve all faced that annoying situation on a freezing morning where we have had a shower and then the bathroom mirror is completely steamed up. No amount of wiping with a towel will clean the mirror and so we’ve been forced to try and brush our teeth or have a shave using a tiny patch of steam-free mirror. Now, Ambient Electrical, the leading providers of under floor heating, have a solution to this age-old problem with their electric mirror demisters.
The idea of mirror heater mats is that they prevent bathroom mirrors from steaming up. No longer is it necessary to suffer the frustration of having to continuously wipe the mirror after a bath or shower as, instead, the mirror remains crystal clear over the area heated by the mat.
David Goose from Ambient Electrical, the leading providers of electric under floor heating, said, “The fog on the bathroom mirror is caused by condensation. Falling air temperatures cause condensation because warm air can hold more moisture than cold air. When warm air in the bathroom is heated by the shower to temperatures as much as 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the air becomes saturated with moisture. When this saturated hot air comes in contact with the bathroom mirror, which may be as much as 30 degrees Fahrenheit less than the air temperature, the moisture begins to come out of the air and be deposited on the mirror surface. The clouds of steam in your bathroom are basically raining on your mirror.”
Ambient Electrical, who also specialise in floor heating, offer self adhesive mirror heating pads that are suitable for direct application to a mirror. They are connected to a suitable lighting circuit or to their own power supply. The idea is by raising the surface temperature of the mirror to be the same as, or greater than the temperature of the air in the bathroom, condensation is prevented.
Mr Goose from the firm who specialise in electric under floor heating, added, “Heaters are double insulated so suitable for all bathroom zones and no thermostat is required. The size of the mirror heating mat will depend on the size of the mirror itself as the mats don’t de-mist the whole mirror, just the area that has the heating mat behind it. We offer six sizes of heating mat to suit all bathrooms.”
These mirror heaters provide a safe, reliable and quick way of ensuring your bathroom mirrors never steam up. You can ensure you can shave in safety and that your hair is perfectly brushed without having to constantly wipe the mirror with a towel to try and see what you are doing on a cold winter’s morning.
