Vineyard Hotel Newbury
14-08-2012
This four and a half meter long tunnel of chilled wine storage was created by Andrew Moor Associates for The Vineyard Hotel in Newbury.
The hotel, which is the wine-tasting capital of the UK, is dedicated to the experience of quality wine production.
The glass wine storage unit, which is fully cooled, holds white wine and one side and red on the other and can store well over one thousand bottles as well as Jereboams and Methusalehs.
Each of the ten glass shelves on each side is individually lit so that all the labels are crystal clear. At the end, in this picture, can be seen a mural, entitled 'The Judgement of Paris' commissioned by the owner of the hotel, Sir Peter Michael.
The picture shows the legendary moment which the congregated wine connoisseurs of France in a blind tasting acclaimed each of the Californian wines as superior to the equivalent french!
The whole environment is an unforgettable experience for anyone interested in wine.
