QD Laser Inc., founded by Fujitsu and Mitsui Ventures, develops semiconductor lasers and amplifiers using quantum dot and quantum well structures.

Quantum dot lasers are highly innovative offer superior performance over traditional semiconductor lasers in terms of temperature stability, low power consumption, long-distance transmission, and high speed.

Highlights of the QD Laser product range:
  • High-temperature 1300nm laser diodes capable of operation at temperature up to 200°C without cooling, ideal for industrial sensing and communication in the oil and gas industry.
  • Quantum Well Lasers including 640-905nm Fabry-Perot diodes with outputs up to 120mW, operating up to 70°C, and available in TO-56 packages with integrated monitor photodiodes.
  • Distributed feedback (DFB) lasers 1030-1130nm (quantum well) and 1240nm (quantum dot). Available in a variety of packaging options and suitable as seeds in fibre laser systems.
  • Combined DFB/SOA (semiconductor optical amplifier) lasers
  • Compact visible laser modules (CVLMs) with fast stabilisation (practically zero) and high modulation capabilities. Their products serve diverse industrial and communication applications.
