The bell tolls for Earls Court Exhibition Centre

Planning permission was granted today for the demolition of the Earls Court exhibition venue and outline development of up to 7500 houses on the site. Home to many iconic events over the years, it now appears to be the end of the road for Earls Court. The venue was once the 'flagship' of London events and exhibiitons, seeming like a second home to Apex Exhibition Designs at times. A pain to get to, horrible to unload into and work within, it had an appeal to foreign visitors, being loccated within the capital. Something the ExCel further out in the Docklands area will never be able to match.
