Applied Pumps have despatched 5x gear pump sets to France to lubricate Howden refrigeration compressors. These pumps have to handle high system pressures and although the differential pressure is low the application is technically difficult for most pumps. The Haight model 40UR gear pump is constructed from high quality, ductile iron and is fitted with a Crane type 21 neoprene mechanical seal to handle the entrained chemicals that are present in the oil. Although these pumps are fitted with 2.2kW electric motors, Applied Pumps have supplied them as close coupled, monobloc style pump sets by using purpose made cast adapters which are designed in-house then cast locally.
