Mag’drive Gear Pumps Chosen for Ancillary Cooling

Sept-014 A major pharmaceutical company has chosen Applied Pumps to supply them with a mag’drive gear pump solution for their laboratories. Although the site have conventional ring mains for equipment cooling within their laboratory facilities, they required the ability to expand this cooling capability to suit the additional requirements of specialist equipment. The Tuthill TWS12 mag’drive gear pump was chosen for this purpose. Each pump was fitted with a close coupled ABB variable speed electric motor and supplied trolley mounted for mobility. The all stainless steel pump set also included an integral drip tray and quick, connecting, dry fluid couplings. To control the flow rate, the pump motor was wired with an Inverter (VSD) which was encased within a waterproof IP65 enclosure. This enabled the pump to deliver a variable capacity of 3 to 30 litre/min at constant pressureSeal'less Gear Pump. The Tuthill pump being intrinsically self-priming, leak-proof and reliable makes it the ideal solution for small cooling loop applications.
