Applied Weighing, providers of a complete range of high performance and custom built weighing solutions and systems, are extending their existing factory in Reading as part of their overall company expansion strategy. This extension, which is due to be operational within the next month, is located directly next door to the original Applied Weighing head office and manufacturing site. The factory will extend the production facilities to double the existing capacity and is an integral part of restructuring operations to improve competitiveness. Outlining the expansion, Applied Weighing Managing Director, John Treacy said: “The new factory represents an investment in our continued growth, an expansion designed to consolidate our position as the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of process weighing equipment and load cells. The extension to the existing factory will incorporate Applied Weighing’s ongoing plans to become increasingly environmentally friendly and will utilise ‘green’ manufacturing techniques where practical”.
