The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) has used only Jun-Air compressors for the past 15 years, and has just bought three more to replace three that were reaching the end of their usable lifespan.
KCMC had two Jun-Air 6-25s and one Jun-Air 12-40 oil-lubricated compressor, and their use of compressed air is perhaps more delicate than many applications of the technology.
The compressed air used at KCMC fulfils functions including keeping patients’ eyes the correct shape during retinal surgery, or creating suction to remove fluids from the eye, or pressure to insert fluids.
With such precise processes and patients’ vision and wellbeing at stake, quality is a must, and Jun-Air compressors have been the best option for a decade and a half.
Dr William Makupa who runs KCMC said: “The use of Jun-Air air compressors plays a vital role in helping to prevent blindness, by supporting the cataract surgery and routine phacoemulsification eye care services offered at KCMC.
“Jun-Air compressors are the only ones the centre has purchased in the past 15 years and the brand is continually favoured thanks to its long, reliable service life, anti-corrosion qualities, ease of operation and low noise output.”
