Rotary screw air compressors are likely to remain a major driver of the global air compressors market through until at least 2020, according to a newly published market research report. The global analysis from Allied Market Research, published in December 2014, describes rotary air compressors as “the highest revenue generating segment in 2013-2020″. In the remainder of the decade, centrifugal air compressors are also predicted to see rapid growth in demand and generated revenues. Meanwhile, between stationary and portable air compressors, stationary models remain the majority share of the market worldwide, and will remain so until at least 2020, according to the analyst’s forecasts. Rotary screw air compressors are just one mode of operation, and in general there are three main types: centrifugal, reciprocating and rotary air compressors. In 2013, rotary generated the largest revenues, and this is predicted to remain the case throughout the rest of the decade. Centrifugal air compressors are forecasted for the greatest growth, however, thanks to their widescale applications and their ability to deliver constant air flow at high pressures, with oil-free operation.
