Pictured above, atg UV Technology have recently dispatched 3 x 5,000 m3/hr capacity medium pressure UV systems for the disinfection of municipal drinking water at one of Europe’s largest drinking water plants.
The ultra-compact UV systems, manufactured in the UK by atg UV Technology are designed to meet the very latest UK and European potable drinking water regulations, including the recent WIMES 801.B specification guidance for closed vessel drinking water UV systems.
The UV models featured are: SX-1873-30’s and represent one of the largest closed vessel UV systems available on the market. They have been installed in order to provide specific protection against the chlorine resistant microorganisms Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
A key feature of the UV system design includes independent 3rd party bioassay validation to the US EPA UVDGM (2006) protocols to ensure disinfection performance at a vast range of flows and water qualities. In particular the US EPA UVDGM validation features an increased level of testing and data collection compared to other validation standards, which allows operators to adopt a log reduction, risk based approach that is tailored to their historical water quality data, resulting in significant CAPEX and OPEX savings.
