Summerhouse & Changing Room, Kent | Case Study 5739 This combination storeroom and changing room was designed from the start to work in conjunction with a complete garden renovation and hot tub. The complete building measures 5.5 x 3m broken into three separate elements, finished in our standard anthracite colour with matching UPVC doors and windows to the main room, with a hardwood door to the store and changing room to the rear of that with heated towel rail and cassette toilet. Fully completed with the base electrics, and wireless Internet connection, we worked alongside David from Abbey garden designs for this complete garden transformation. The Work After lengthy consultations with the clients to gauge their exact requirements, we came up with a design for a combination room. We created a summerhouse with French doors. Because no external timber was used, we were able to offer Mr & Mrs H our unique 10-year guarantee. The inside of the building was painted in a Farrow & Ball colour to match their house. As well as a roomy leisure space, the construction also included a changing room to increase the family’s enjoyment of their garden and hot tub. We installed a large towel rail to ensure they always had warm towels when they got out of the water. Our project was part of a total garden redevelopment that included re-turfing the lawn and creating a children’s play area. We worked closely with the landscape gardener they engaged, David of Abbey Garden Designs. The Result “We’ve had 2 buildings made by Bakers. Their buildings are amazing- really smart and great quality. The finish is lovely, we are so pleased. The whole team has been very knowledgeable and accommodating; nothing was ‘out of the question’ and all small issues rectified without question. They have a fantastic showroom, and Martin is very approachable and genuinely cares about each project! If you are looking for a garden building, I would definitely recommend Bakers.”
