Read how we installed this stunning poolside summerhouse for our Sussex clients - meaning they could enjoy long hot summer days by their pool! The Project Our customer contacted us during the autumn months as they had recently instructed Water stream pools to install a “Compass” outdoor pool. They were looking for a summerhouse to use for changing and showering plus somewhere they could spend all day poolside. Working closely with Water stream in the pool building process all the services were run prior to the pool and surrounding tiles being completed and left a concrete base the correct size ready for us to complete at the customers say so. The customer wanted to use the pool and room all year round for fitness and it was imperative the room be warm whatever the British weather could throw at it. The Work When Martin visited the site along with the building details, discussions were had on how to finish off the area, conceal the air-source heat pump and the plant room and other workings. The Building requirements were agreed, a large shower in a room, a separate toilet that could be accessed directly from the pool (without having to enter the room) then a main room to chill, enjoy a morning coffee after a swim and to entertain all the extended family plus future proof for a sauna, with great integration with the pool. With a focus on low maintenance and the peace of mind our 10 year warrantee offers the building chosen was our Aluminium –Bi-fold doors combination, tailor made for all requirement. With Medite Tricoya Extreme (MTX) external cladding to the front, right and trims, with cement wall to rear and left finished in RAL 7012 (Basalt Grey) to match the aluminium doors and windows. To continue on low maintenance the door to the toilet is hardwood. Internally the building is finished in our V-200 MDF cladding painted ion timeless acrylic egg shell. Due to a last minute upgrade to the air source pump, this did not leave us with enough power for our standard 8.5kw power shower, so the solutions for this was hot water storage tank with a 3kw electrical immersion. This a great solution for when power distribution is limited (very common with pools and hot-tubs). This hot water storage not only feeds the shower but also both basins in the building. Once the building was in place we created hit and miss MTX fencing to hide the air source pump yet still allow the air flow required, an MTX gate and panelling so the project looks neat and tidy from anywhere in the house or garden. The Result Our client was really happy with the result. His review speaks for itself "Bakers were great throughout the whole process of planning, preparing and installing our Pool House. Martin Baker worked with our swimming pool installers and with our electrician to surmount problems and difficulties caused by the completed installations already in place. All members of the team were helpful and attentive at all times, responding to e-mail enquiries etc with great speed. The installation team were friendly and helpful and drank the tea and coffee provided without complaint! The minor snags and glitches have been resolved quickly and effectively. I can thoroughly recommend Bakers and the product is fantastic. I use the shower room every day after my swim and the sitting area promises to be very popular when the weather gets colder."
