The steward telephone is just one of the outstation options available for the OmniCare EVC system. The steward/emergency telephone is connected to the master panel on a loop circuit. The loop can also accommodate any of the other OmniCare system outstations, including: disabled refuge, advance disabled refuge, fire telephones, combined disabled refuge/fire telephone and disabled toilet alarms. It should be noted that BS5839 part 9 recommends that sports stadia/venues install emergency/steward telephones at regular intervals around concourses so no one has to travel more than 30m to reach the nearest outstation.
