Sealing labels on food have three functions. On the one hand, they serve as decorative labels. Often glasses or cans are provided with closure labels, e.g. B. jams or honey jars.In addition to the design aspect of the product, sealing labels (tamper evident) provide protection for the consumer. They provide proof of first opening. If the label is damaged, the consumer can conclude that the product has already been opened. The properties of the label material and the label adhesive play an important role here. Transparent sealing labels are used to re-seal products that have already been opened. These are often used in products packed in plastic and serve to ensure that the food can be kept tightly closed.Depending on the function, the right label material and the right label adhesive must be selected. Reclosable labels are very different from perforated labels, which are intended to provide an indication of the first opening.Applying perforated sealing labels by hand usually leads to the labels being glued inaccurately or the label being damaged before it is applied.
