Circular Economy School Challenge 2023

Circular Economy School Challenge 2023 BGB recently challenged the children of Allington with Sedgebrook CE primary school to get their creative minds flowing and discover ways to reuse and repurpose their everyday household items and encourage them to take part in The Circular Economy. Uche, Heather and James had the extremely difficult task of judging the wide range of creative and inventive entries from Key Stage 1 & 2. "Every time we run the Circular Economy challenge with the schools we get blown away with the time, effort and thought that goes into the pieces. The children really get into the challenge and it's great to see them really thinking about what everyday items they can repurpose." James Tupper BGB's Head of Marketing. As you can see from the pictures and video, entries included board games made from bottle tops, a skirt made from crisp packets, wind chimes made from old padlocks and old boots being repurposed as plant pots! "The winner of key stage 1 (5-7 year olds) had gone to such an effort with her project, creating not only a board game with an ingenious mechanism for moving counters with repurposed bottle tops but had also gone to the trouble of writing instructions for the game as well - great effort!" said Heather Butters one of the BGB judges. We would like to thank the children of Allington & Sedgebrook CofE Primary School, the teachers, and the parents for making this year's Circular Economy project a huge success. We'd also like to thank Darren Joint and the team at Viking Signs for donating the wonderful trophies (which were also repurposed from the recent Business Awards).
