We celebrated our 18th year in business by donating £10,000 to Sightsavers

We are extremely pleased to announce that Boosters ended 2015 on a high note. We wanted to do something special to celebrate our 18th anniversary, and one of the things we had decided to do was to make a donation to charity. We chose Sightsavers because we loved their mission, and we’re thrilled to announce that we met our minimum donation target of £10,000. This is great news for Sightsavers, and also for Boosters. It turns out, 2015 was our best year in business to date. There are already signs that 2016 is shaping up to be even better. Sightsavers: Working hard to eradicate preventable blindness Sightsavers were chosen to be the recipient of a donation due to the stellar work they do in the developing world. With their support, their partners in some of the world’s poorest regions are able to perform millions of eye examinations every year, while volunteers across the globe help to deliver medication to combat preventable blindness from developing, as well as supplies to help those who are blind to have a better quality of life. Boosters: Cornish success, global benefit We are proud to have been able to assist Sightsavers in their good work for several reasons. Firstly, it means that many people less fortunate than ourselves get the chance of a better life. Our £10,000 can pay for 200 children to have cataract operations, or 300 adult procedures to be carried out. Secondly, it’s a heartening sign that a business based in Cornwall has managed to enjoy its best year to date. So much of the news we hear about the business world these days is negative, so it’s nice to be able to contribute a success story and let the world know that Cornwall is a promising region for business. 2016: Another record-breaking year for boosters? We’re looking forward to seeing what the coming months have in store for our company. The New Year is still in its infancy, yet already we have received a product order totalling £250,000 from a major blue-chip company. We were lucky to be able to find a company based in Cornwall which can manufacture the products, allowing us to keep this valuable business inside our county. It’s a great result for Boosters, a great result for our partners, and a great result for the Cornish economy. All in all, the past few months have been fantastic for Boosters, so we are naturally eager to keep up the momentum and see what the future holds. We are excited to have been able to work with Sightsavers, and look forward to learning more about how our donation has helped people who are blind, or at risk of blindness, in the developing world. We are also looking forward to continuing our strong business relationships with our many clients, and to demonstrating the impact that Cornish business can have across the UK and across the globe.
