A building contractor approached Brooks Forgings to produce a series of complex bends for a special handrail installation project.
The hot-formed bends, 11 variants in total, are produced from a 32mm diameter solid mild steel bar. The final appearance and finish were important as the bends were used for decorative handrails. Specialist force dissipating tooling was produced to avoid deformation of the bends, keeping the material round and smooth throughout.
A total of 108 bends were manufactured and delivered to our customer for final fabrication.
