Burns Dogs' Day Out
07-10-2011
Heavy showers did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of visitors to our fourth annual Dogs Day Out in Pembrey Country Park on Sunday.
Dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages took part in the plentiful activities on offer which included an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Dog Obedience Lesson. Although the record has yet to be verified by Guinness, a total of 319 dogs learned new commands during the half hour class, beating the previous record by over fifty. To give the record a bit of a local twist, some of the commands taught to the class by Lynne Davies from BBC TVs Dog Borstal were in Welsh.
We would like to thank everyone who braved the showers to take part in the world record attempt. Although our visitors came from all over UK it will be fantastic to be able to claim the record for Wales.
