Aluminium alloy 6005 is a medium strength commercial alloy, it has a higher strength than alloys 6063 and 6060, but is harder to extrude. 6005 has good weldability and corrosion resistance. Although suitable for anodizing it will not provide a good finish as with alloys 6060 & 6063.Aluminium alloy 6005 is often used in transport, structural engineering and precision engineering. At Capalex we use the following alloys; 1050, 1200, 2014(A), 2024, 3003, 5083, 6005(A), 6060, 6061, 6063(A), 6082, 7020, 7075.
