The nature of the grains (size, composition, etc) is one of the most effective factors that can determine the overall mechanical behavior of the metal. Heat treatment provides an efficient way to manipulate the properties of the metal by controlling rate of diffusion, and the rate of cooling within the microstructure.Our 5 metre heat treatment facility, stretch and de-twist machine enables Capalex to supply the most demanding aerospace specification material. We also have a coiling capability for certain lighter extrusions in lengths up to 30 metres.As well as heat treating sections that we extrude on site, we can also occasionally offer a sub-contract service for material produced from another source.
