Linishing is a type of surface treatment that uses grinding or belt sanding techniques to improve the flatness of a surface and produces a matt finish. This technique may also be used, with finer grades of grindstone or sanding belt, to polish a surface and will remove any roughness from the part.It can also be used to prepare a part for polishing, to the extent that only a final buff is required to bring up the finish.
