Ultrasonic inspection service by Capital NDT
18-07-2022
Ultrasonic Inspection or ultrasonic Testing, is an NDT service that can both detect flaws in a component and measure material thickness. Ultrasonic non-destructive inspection makes use of sound waves to detect defects and It can be used on a variety of materials, such as steel, other metals and alloys.
Capital NDT are proud to announce that they now also offer Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing.
The Benefits Of Ultrasonic Testing
-Instant report on-site
-Fully portable equipment
-On-site inspections
-Detailed flaw detection
-Bond integrity assessment
-A high degree of accuracy
What Is Ultrasonic Testing?
Ultrasonic Testing is a non-destructive testing method that makes use of short wavelength sound waves of both high and low frequency to detect internal flaws and defects within components and parts. Additionally, it can be used to determine a material’s thickness. For example, the thickness of the wall of a pipe.
Measuring material thickness
Ultrasonic testing can also be used to measure material thickness. Sound waves travel at different velocities within different materials. By knowing the material velocity and the time it takes for a sound wave to travel from the transducer through the material and back again our expert inspectors can calculate the thickness of the material.
NDT Services Available On Site Across The UK
The skilled and experienced team of NDT engineers can carry out Ultrasonic inspection on site across the UK or at their specialist facility in Colnbrook, just off the M25.
