Achieving 100% yield with no rejects, is always the target at Carrs, and can be achieved when the correct procedure is used, with adequate testing. João's knowledge of metallurgy, welding and mechanics will be a terrific benefit to Carrs, as they forge ahead into new technologies and weld hundreds of different products, in dozens of different materials. João (we call him John), did some work for Carrs in 2009, on Aluminium (6082) Laser welding, as a summer placement and part of his Mastery Thesis. This development work is now used every week, when aluminium is welded and with 2 years of field trials, Carrs are sure that welding 6082 is a high quality repeatable process.
