Constant Voltage Transformer – 500iS/50Hz Constant voltage transformers (CVT’s) use the ferro-resonant principle to provide a stable output voltage free from impulses, spikes and harmonics. They have an extremely rugged and robust design and are particularly suited to harsh environments. Requiring little or no maintenance the CVT is an ideal solution for the protection of voltage sensitive equipment in industrial applications. The CVT provides a stable output voltage with an instantaneous correction to input voltage fluctuations. This power conditioner provides a sinusoidal output waveshape even when the input waveform is very distorted and will stop load current harmonics being reflected back onto the mains supply. Galvanic isolation together with the practical yet robust design make the ferro-resonant transformer an ideal solution for industrial applications. The 500iS/50Hz has a power rating of 500VA, and frequency of 50Hz, the input can be either 110V/230V/400V +/-15% and the output can be 110V/230V +/-3%. The ambient temperature range is -10°C to +40°C. The constant voltage transformer has been carefully designed and manufactured using high-temperature materials which are rated for safe use at these temperatures. If you become concerned that the CVT is making a humming noise or is warm/hot to the touch, don’t worry, this is perfectly normal. These CVT’s are a stock item together with 250VA and 1000VA models. 60Hz units are also available from stock. For large powers ot other voltages the manufacturing lead time is generally 2 weeks.
