Our Stainless-Steel Quick Disconnects (SQDC) range allows the multiple connection of pneumatic lines in one easy to use unit. The range has been designed to meet stringent aerospace environmental requirements. The quick disconnects have been extensively tested to withstand high temperatures and indeed can operate effectively within a wide temperature range from - 40 °C to 325°C. This makes them suitable for a wide range of applications. As well as high temperatures, the quick disconnects are fitted with an anti-vibration cam, tested to D0160F. This prevents the main nut from coming undone during extreme vibration. With features like this our range of SQDC’s can be used where no other quick disconnects can be. They can be used to replace single way couplings, allowing for quick and easy removal of accessories with minimal impact on the system. Speeding up system inspection and maintenance. It can take a long time to make a single way fixing and once set up all the pipe routing must be checked. With our SQDC, you can choose from different configurations making 8, 16, 24 or 32 reliable connections all at the same time. The SQDC range has been in use for around seven years and has proved very successful. The quick disconnects can be used in areas of frequent disassembly, repair, or to isolate components or sub-systems for troubleshooting. The SQDC has proved particularly successful at gas turbine manufacturers – both in the UK and the US. Here they were used to put breaks into long pipe runs. Before the SQDC, when they wanted to dismantle an engine, all the piping (potentially 300 pipes or so) had to be cut off and replaced. With the SQDC, they can simply undo the coupling and strip the engine. Re-assembly then just involves putting the coupling back together. We have an extensive range of SQDCs, available in four sizes (8, 16, 24 and 32 ports) for a variety of solid and flexible tubing. We also supply back shells, blanks, bulkheads and pre-made looms.
