Dateline: Tunbridge Wells October 2020 Chilstone, makers of handcrafted architectural stone and garden ornaments in Royal Tunbridge Wells are excited to see the handcrafted table and benches we supplied to St Barts Hospital used for a meeting between NHS staff and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! Our table was engraved especially for St. Barts by our talented onsite engraver, Nigel Hartfield. Chilstone have repeatedly won the prestigious 5 Gold Star award at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and have welcomed the Duchess of Cambridge to our stand at the show in the past. We were delighted to see her and HRH Prince William sitting on Chilstone benches around a Chilstone specially engraved table at St Barts Hospital in London. The Duke and Duchess were at the hospital to thank NHS workers for their great work and to launch a photography exhibition called Hold Still. This is a special collection of portraits of the UK during the Corona virus lockdown. Handmade in Kent The table with surrounding curved cast stone benches with lion detailing were made in our workshop in Kent and are a feature in the Princess Alice Garden at the hospital. The garden was created as a place of tranquillity. The table and bench set were commissioned as a memorial to John Wickham who in collaboration with Professor Brian Davies of Imperial College, developed and engineered the first robotic device in urological surgery named the PROBOT and was awarded one of the highest professional honours from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2013.
