As the Chinese Government prepares to launch its action plan on IPR on April 20th, Andrew Ferrier, Commercial Manager for Components Bureau welcomed the comprehensive attack on individuals and companies pirating Intellectual Property. “ From a company perspective, Components Bureau hasn’t had a problem with attacks on IP because we cover that side of our business very thoroughly. I am aware though, that it’s a concern for potential customers and it’s reassuring to know that it’s being acknowledged at the highest level.”
The official Action Plan includes a roadshow covering ‘Copyright Protection for Economic Development’, a campaign entitled ‘A Networked World and a Copyright-Friendly China’ as well as highlighting the number of leading companies and enterprises in IPR protection. The campaign will culminate in an “IPR Protection Day Gala” on April 26th.
“European companies need to know that IP is secure and respected in China; on a daily basis our customers know that, but it’s good that the message will be really given prominence by the authorities in China.” Ended Ferrier.
