Officina Alessi Fruit Basket Teapot was designed by SANNA, a partnership formed between two interior designers and architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. Along with many other designers, SANNA partook in the "Tea & Coffee Towers" project that saw 22 international architects compete for the first time in the arena of industrial design, with the mission of producing a service for tea and coffee. Their initial design was part of the limited edition 99 pieces which were made of silver. SANNA later produced a teapot in 18/10 stainless steel available to the public.
