9t Yellow Gold Use as stone setting strip Make rubover or cabochon settings Fully annealed This 9ct yellow gold Bearer Wire, also known as stone setting strip, is mainly used for making Rubover or Cabochon settings. This fully annealed wire measures approximately 4.8mm wide and has 2 thicknesses; 0.9mm (3mm wide approx) and 0.4mm (1.8mm wide approx). These 2 thicknesses create a step for your stone to sit onto, with the thinner section of the strip being pushed over the stone using a bezel roller (999 AJG), securing the stone in place. This light weight wire can also be used for setting other materials such as ceramics and sea glass, it could also assist with other decorative techniques such as metal inlay.
