This unassembled 9ct Yellow Gold ear clip is easily soldered to an earring and fitted together to form a clip-on earring fastening. Solder the smallest flat rectangular edge of the smaller `joint` component to the reverse of an earring as desired. The large open side of the `joint` component should be positioned pointing towards what will be the top of the earring. To assemble, fit the two outer legs of the larger `paddle` component into the circular holes on either side of the `joint` fitting, with the curve of the `paddle` component arching outwards. The middle leg of the `paddle` component forms a tension bar which should rest on the back of the `joint` component, and which can then gently be pulled with fine nose pliers away from the earring to adjust the fit.
