The birthstone for february, amethyst has generally been known as the crystal of healing and is excellent for spiritual protection and purification. This round amethyst cabochon measures 4mm. Amethyst has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.63 - 2.65. Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each cabochon is unique so colours will vary and slight natural inclusions and zoning may be present. Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place amethyst stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Amethyst can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth. It is advised to avoid exposing amethyst to prolonged periods of heat and light. A slight tolerance of +/- 0.25mm should be expected with these stones and these amethysts are sold individually.
