Antiscale is typically used when enamelling on a copper surface. The liquid should be spread in an even layer on the side of the piece which is either not to be enamelled or is to be enamelled last, before being left to dry fully. Enamel should then be applied to the other side of the piece and fired as normal. Once fired, the layer of antiscale should simply flake off the copper, leaving your enamelled work free from scale and ready to apply enamel on the blank side of the piece if desired.
