The birthstone for march, aquamarine has generally been known as the stone of courage and is excellent for calming stress and helping to overcome fears whilst having a soothing and clarifying effect. This round faceted aquamarine measures 2.5mm. Aquamarine has a hardness of 7.5 - 8 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.72. Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each stone is unique so colours will vary and slight natural inclusions and zoning may be present. Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place aquamarine stones in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner. Aquamarine can be easily cleaned with a chemical cleaning solution, warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth. It is advised to avoid exposing aquamarine to prolonged periods of heat and light. A slight tolerance of +/- 0.25mm should be expected with these stones and these aquamarines are sold individually.
