This non-toxic clay has the same quality and assurance that traditional Art Clay has but with many other benefits. The clay is 60% stronger and tougher compared to traditional Art Clay and it has a slower drying time thus a longer working time. The clay has used the best elements of the other Art Clay formulas and created this clay. The mixture is ready to use with no need to mix and the consistency is soft and smooth, making it easy to work with. Once fired the binder burns out leaving a Sterling Silver piece, which can be hallmarked as .950 purity. Art Clay Silver 950 Clay can be open fired in a kiln the same way traditional Art Clay Silver Series. When kiln firing, the guidelines recommend heating up to 500°C (932°F) for 30 minutes to burn off the binder, then heat up to 870°C (1598°F) for 60 minutes to sinder the metal particles. Do not move the piece after the first firing stage as it maybe fragile. It is easy and simple to fire this Art Clay Silver 950 Clay and please note it requires no carbon. Shrinkage is 10-13%. This is an eco-friendly product, containing recycled silver. This 50g Silver Clay comes in 2 x 25g individually wrapped pieces. The product can only be Kiln Fired and not Torch Fired.
