A fast and effective way of creating square stampings Features four varying dies Suitable for using with silver, gold, brass and copper This Artisan Square Shaped Disc Cutter is a fast, effective and easy way to create perfectly formed Square shaped discs for your jewellery designs. Perfect for beginners, hobbyists and students, the set features four different sizes and shaped dies, each of which will cut soft metal such as silver, gold, brass or copper. To use the Artisan Square Shaped Disc Cutter, simply place your metal under your chosen die and strike firmly with a hammer - thicker gauge metals will often need more than one strike. For best results we recommend using this disc cutter in a vice, this will give smooth and more accurate results. The cutting edges have a 7 degree angle, enabling it to cut through metal like scissors. Your shaped disc will come out of the bottom of the disc cutter ready to use in your jewellery designs. The four dies in this set will create Square shaped discs. These include: 10x10mm 15x15mm 20x20mm 27x27mm To keep your disc cutter in good condition, use a lubricant such as Burr Life (998 021) when not in use and, when working, operate the cutter on a rubber block such as 999 7151. For perfectly perpendicular results when cutting small pieces of metal, insert a scrap piece of base metal of the same thickness as the metal to be cut into the opposite side of the cutter. The tool measures 7.6cm in length, 7.6cm in width and 3.9cm in depth and is best for use with 18 gauge of metal. Please note this product weights 5lbs.
