Blue Lace Agate is a variety of Chalcedony from the Quartz family, easily identifiable by its soft, naturally coloured bands of very light blue and white tones. The pattern of these soft bands, running through translucent and transparent sections, give the stone a delicate, striped appearance. Blue Lace Agate has generally been known as the stone of communication. Agate is excellent for balancing emotional, physical and intellectual energy and its cleansing properties whilst Blue Lace Agate symbolises calm and cleansing. This round blue lace agate cabochon measures 10mm. Agate has a hardness of 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.6. Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each cabochon is unique so pattern and banding will vary and slight natural inclusions are sometimes faintly visible. Care: As with all gemstones, care must be taken. It is not advised to place agate stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Blue lace agate can be easily cleaned with a warm soapy water mix or an untreated cloth. It is advised to avoid exposing agate to prolonged periods of heat and light. A slight tolerance of +/- 0.25mm should be expected with these stones and these agates are sold individually.
