This high quality steel burr from Busch has a stone setting profile measuring 5.50mm diameter at the widest point. Burrs are used in conjunction with a pendant drill, hobby drill or micromotor in order to cut or grind away, shape or give pattern to a surface (usually metal). This burr has a total length of 4.95mm and tapers to a 90 degree angle. Stone setting burrs are mainly used for cutting seats into prong settings or bezels, and also for tube settings. To prolong the life of a burr and reduce chatter, a lubricant such as Burr Life Cut Lube (998 021) can be used.
