This 70 degree bearing cutter, high quality steel burr from Busch has a diameter of 0.90mm at the widest point of the profile. Bearing cutter burrs are used for cutting notched seats in prongs and for channel and flush settings - a 70 degree bearing cutter is ideal for setting shallow, angled stones. They may also be used for scoring or cutting lines. Busch burrs are constructed from a number of steel teeth forming a shape, which is mounted onto a standard 3/32" shank. They are used in conjunction with a pendant drill, hobby drill or micromotor to cut, grind away, shape or give pattern or texture to a surface (usually metal). This burr has a total length of 0.39mm and is Busch profile reference number 446. Each side edge of the bearing cutter cuts to a 70 degree angle. To prolong the life of a burr and reduce chatter, a lubricant such as Burr Life Cut Lube (998 021) can be used. Other shapes and sizes are available.
