This high quality steel burr from Busch has a bearing cutter (Hart) profile measuring 2.50mm diameter at the widest point. Burrs are used in conjunction with a pendant drill, hobby drill or micromotor in order to cut or grind away, shape or give pattern to a surface (usually metal). This burr has a total length of 1.05mm and each side edge of the bearing cutter cuts to a 70 degree angle. Bearing cutter burrs are used for cutting seats in prongs and for channel and flush settings - a 70 degree bearing cutter is ideal for setting shallow, angled stones. They may also be used for scoring or cutting lines. To prolong the life of a burr and reduce chatter, a lubricant such as Burr Life Cut Lube (998 021) can be used.
