Carnelian can vary from semi opaque to highly translucent and can also include including specks, banding and striping. The warm reddish orange colour with bands of white and yellow is caused by the presence of Iron Oxide. Carnelian has generally been known as the stone of motivation. Carnelian is excellent for stimulating creativity and promoting courage with its empowering energy. This round carnelian cabochon measures 10mm. Carnelian has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.58 - 2.64.
