Cutting Powder is used in conjunction with plastic or ceramic media when barrel polishing, to de-burr and give a matt finish to jewellery items before the final polishing stage. It is ideal for use when finishing gold or silver jewellery work for a soft, matt finish. The powder can be used with ceramic cutting cones (998 004) or ceramic chips (998 006). 20g of Cutting Powder should be used with each kilogram of cones/chips, although a larger proportion of Cutting powder can be used for a coarser finish. For a smoother finish, add a small amount of Barrelbrite Compound (998 001P) to the mixture.
