Ideal for a range of applications, the kit includes Cotton Buffs, Compound, and Scotch-Brite Discs; remove scratches, pre-polish, polish and finish pewter and precious metals, as well as to clean the insides of rings and solder joints. This kit contains: 42 x 3M Radial Bristle Discs 76.2mm (3") - 6 x of each grit: 80, 120, 220, 400, 1200, 3,000, 14,000 9 x Spindle adapters with 9.53mm (3/8") hole. 2 x right, 7 x left 2 x Soft Cotton Buffing Wheels 76.2mm (3") 2 x Square Edge Solid Felt Buffs 76.2mm (3") 1 x Platinum Blue pre-polishing compound (5oz) 1 x Platinum White final polishing compound (5.75oz) Further information about the contents: 3M Radial Bristle Discs are moulded plastic discs embedded with aluminium oxide and 3M Cubitron which is a tough, long lasting ceramic aluminium oxide mineral with sharper edges than regular aluminium oxide. This give sharp edges and applies a continuous supply of abrasive mineral while using. The flexible bristles are able to reach into grooves, polish contours and flat areas. As the bristles are abrasive, they do not require compounds. Attach all 6 multiple radial bristles of the same grit to an included spindle. Ensure all face the same direction. The maximum speed rating is 20,000 RPM, however the recommended speed is much lower and varies by grit: 80 Grit: 3,000-15,000 RPM. 120, 220 and 400 Grit: 3,000-18,000 RPM. 1200, 3,000 and 14,000 Grit: 1,750-7,500 RPM. Tapered Spindle Adapters have a 9.5mm (3/8") arbor hole for mounting Radial Bristle Discs onto the tapered spindles. Included in the kit, are two A-4561 Adapters (black) for right side mounting and seven A-4562 Adapters (grey) for left side mounting. Soft Cotton Buffing Wheels are used for final polishing with either included compound, especially for high karat gold and silver. The Square Edge buffs are made of tightly compressed wool felt in rock hard density to polish in grooves and crevices. They feature shellac reinforced centre pin holes to allow you to mount directly onto tapered spindles. Use with compounds for cutting or polishing. Platinum Blue polishing compound is ideal for pre-polishing and cutting down of platinum and other metals, or final polishing acrylics. Platinum White polishing compound is ideal for final polishing of precious metals including platinum, gold, and silver and produces a deep lustre, high colour final polish.
